The HL7 Interfaces project was a multi organizational collaborative effort between Abbott Informatics (now STARLiMS) Arizona State Health Department (APHL), Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL), Center for Disease Control (CDC), Various reporting programs including PHLIP, LRN-B, LRN-C, Rabies, AIMS. Its primary goals were:
Configuration Based - Transform HL7 messaging from a strictly code based application to a configuration based application.
Program Templates - Develop and provide baseline templates for each of the reporting programs so that labs implementing this framework can quickly get certification.
Messages on Demand - Addition of the HL7 Generator application developed at ADHS to generate HL7 messages on demand for samples in the system.

An application developed at Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) used to identify the location in the STARLiMS application that the specified sample can be located. Additional functionality includes identifying possible issues that might be associated with the sample, view latest report functionality, and Audit Log report. The concept of this project is quite simple, to allow the user to enter the sample ID and provide a graphical interface showing where in the lifecycle in the STARLiMs application the sample is currently located. This is application does not require any table modifications or additions to the STARLiMS application and should be compatible with XFDRuntime versions of 10.7 and later. Modifications to the provided Audit Log report (Crystal Reports) will be required to utilize the Audit Log feature.

Basic setup as the Desktop application for clients, but we add a twist by running the application off of a file share so there is minimal change required to the client computer. This also provides one interface to launch various instances of the the STARLiMS application. The idea here is instead of placing the runtime folders on the client computer, we will put them on a shared drive, then create a shortcut on the client computer to a bat file on the shared drive that will launch the instance of STARLiMS selected.
STARLiMS Desktop Application Documents Included in this download include:
Abbott_How to run the Native Application from a ShortCut_2020-02-28.pdf - Instructions provided by Abbott on how to run the Native Application from a shortcut.

CrystalReports.exe - Crystal Reports viewer.
STARLiMS Desktop App Install Instructions.pdf - Instructions for the end user hot to setup the launch icon once the shared folder containing the STARLiMS core files has been setup.
STARLiMS Launcher - Shortuct for desktop.
STARLiMSDestop.bat - BAT file that should reside on the shared drive that is the target of the shortcut.
Assortment of SQL queries created for trouble shooting, updating, data extraction and many other operations performed through SQL statements. Developed with the Oracle database, You may need to make changes for them to work in SQL Server. Files all have the .sql extension but can be viewed in a regular text editor.
