Description: Hell of a drive to get to the trailhead, but the views are spectacular from start to when you decide to the turning back point. If you don't feel like going up the 0.7 mile ramp at 17% grade to the rim of the valley you can hike around the lake, or hike one of the other two trails for a bit. If you do go up to the rim of the valley, you can continue bumping along the peaks of this trail with super views until you are ready to come back. Views are non-stop on this hike. Segment 27 of the Colorado Trail is 20.1 miles, so hike as far as you want and turn back when you are done.
